Selling Services
In addition to physical and digital products, services can be sold in Online Store.
When adding a product to the store, uncheck the shipping checkbox to indicate that a service is being sold instead of a physical product.
Adding a Service
To sell a service add it to the product catalog and then disable shipping for that product.
To add a service and disable shipping:
- Log in to Store management, in Catalog → Products.
- Click +Add New Product.
- Next add a service name, description and upload an image for a preview.
- Then add price, quantity, and SKU if applicable.
- In the Shipping & Pickup section of the product page, click This Product Requires Shipping or Pickup option toggle button to disable the option.
- Click Save.
Accepting Bookings
The booking process can be automated to save time and to avoid unnecessary emails and phone calls. Simply integrate a synced online calendar to a product page.
To accept booking by integrating Google calendar to a product page:
- Start by adding a service to Online Store Catalog.
- Then head over to Options and add a “Date picker” input type and name the option “Date”:
- Add the second option named “Time” that consists of a simple text field. This is where clients can indicate a suitable time for an appointment. Make sure both of these options are marked as required options:
4. Add an online calendar to the description. For example, to use Google Calendarget the code for the calendarand paste it into the product description (make sure to click on <> on the far right to add code):
5. Add a small explanation in the description for the clients on how to make a reservation (let them know they have to check the calendar before they make a booking to make sure you are free).
Note: If there is only a certain amount of spaces available (for a class for example) the stock level can be set up to correspond to the number of places available. The product will state there are no spaces left once the stock reaches zero.
